“ Got the noodles with cumin lamb which was delicious. The noodles were hand-pulled and perfectly chewy. The lamb was not overwhelming and the dish itself had a nice kick to it. I also tried the hot oil seared noodle which was also very delicious. The vinegar added a nice tang to the flavor. The food came out pretty quick after we ordered it. ”

“ I'm currently visiting NY, and a friend and I were craving some hand pulled noodles so she decided to take me to Bites of Xi'an. We ordered the hot oil seared hand ripped noodles and the cool noodles, and even though they were both delicious, I could have easily went for another bowl of the hot oil noodles. The garlic and vinegar give the dish a perfect tang that makes it hard to stop eating! The restaurant is small but not too crowded, even when people started filling the tables next to us. You order and pick up your food at the register, and we only waited about 10 minutes before our order was ready! If you've never had hand pulled noodles before I definitely recommend this place! ”

“ This place rocks! Liang Pi was a spicy cold peanut noodle dish with cucumber and sprouts. The server said that the noodles are made with wheat. The veggie dumpling was served very hot. Service was fast and furious. I like this place. ”

“ I genuinely thought this place was a ghost kitchen for years. I kept seeing it show up on my Yelp app for nearby delivery, but every time I've walked by, it looked derelict. It turns out, they just use the front window area for storage, so you can't really make out the inside very well through the clutter. As it turns out, I can happily confirm that Bites of Xi'an is actually open for dine-in! I wonder if there's some shared history between Bites of Xi'an and Xi'an Famous Foods. The first thing that stood out to me was how alike their two menus are. Not only do they serve very similar dishes, but even the layout of the menu and their ordering conventions (a letter and number combination) seem eerily the same. This spot is pretty ascetic, but what they lack in character, they make up for with fresh, tasty food. Throughout our meal, you could hear the biang biang of fresh noodles being slapped in the kitchen. I appreciate that we were offered the choice between flat hand-pulled noodles vs. the more typical spaghetti style. I can't fathom why anyone would -not- opt for the thick, chewy, fluffy ribbons of glutinous glory, though. As far as the cuisine goes, I don't know that I could pick either of the eponymous eateries over the other. We shared the spicy cumin lamb noodles, the beef noodle soup, and an order of their spicy garlic cukes. Broadly, I'd describe each dish as flavorful, fragrant, varying in texture, and satisfying without feeling heavy. Also, the portions are stunningly massive for the price point. Our entire order (plus a bottle of water) came out to barely $30, then I threw in a cash tip on top. Where else can you score a completely filling dinner for two for $15 a head these days?! ”

“ The family came here for a quick lunch before running some errands. We ordered various dry noodle bowls and a pork sandwich. The noodles were hand pulled and it went well with the sauces. The pork sandwich was delicious, crispy exterior and juicy pork filling. All in all, it was a pretty good lunch and I would return whenever I'm in the area. ”

“ I bookmarked this a while ago, finally went, and it was SO worth it!! These types of places are my favorite: order at the counter, straight forward, no need to tip. I ordered the Diao Diao noodles, a friend ordered the noodles with braised pork belly, and another ordered rice topped with braised beef. We also ordered pork and chives dumplings to split. The Diao Diao is the best on the menu! The noodles with pork belly and the rice topped with braised beef were filling, but ok. The dumplings were great -- we were so full we ended up taking some to go! Price is pretty reasonable for the area: less than $15 per bowl. Love a no frills place, and would definitely could back for more Diao Diao! ”
